Underdog Story!
USA’s Waldies® Original Comfy Clogs wins at ITC Court vs Shoe Goliath Crocs!

Washington D.C. - July 25th, 2008

On July 25, 2008, the United States International Trade Commission Court (ITC) terminated its investigation of patent infringement made by Crocs against Effervescent Inc., makers of Waldies® Comfy Clogs and ten other companies.

The ITC found that Waldies® clogs do not infringe any valid Crocs patent. The ITC further concluded that Croc’s claimed invention — adding a foam pivoting strap to a Waldies®-type clog — was obvious, and that the USA Utility Patent for that obvious invention was invalid.

This latest legal blow comes hard on the heels of another loss Crocs suffered in December 2007, when the European Union’s Office for Harmonization (OHIM) invalidated Crocs’ Registered Community Design Patent. Earlier in 2007, the Canadian Intellectual Property Office also rescinded its preliminary decision to give Crocs patent rights.

History: The world discovered the foam clog phenomenon in 2001 when Walden Kayaks introduced Waldies® to Kayakers and Hikers. Waldies® quickly spread to feet all over the World!

First test of the New Hobie Adventure Island

Posted: May 29th, 2009 | Author: tikayak | Filed under: Kayak, What's Happenin' | No Comments »

We had light wind for the first time sailing the New Hobie Adventure Island. The Adventure island really keeps with the Hobie tradition of sailing well and not just being some gimmick to sell more kayaks. So hear are some pictures of the first time and more to come later.
